Academic Solutions for the Syria Crisis

Academic Solutions for the Syria Crisis

As part of the  Jamiya Project and NRV’s efforts to promote Syrian academics dispersed around the world, we will publish a collection of articles, opinion pieces and interviews with Syrian academics in Spring 2017. This will be the third installment in the Academics in Exile series. We are looking for contributors to submit academic articles and opinion pieces highlighting how their area of expertise can help those who have been affected by the crisis – either momentarily or in the future. These pieces can broadly address how the author’s academic area of expertise can help provide solutions for Syrians displaced around the world or how their specific focus is already aiming to do exactly that. Submissions will be presented alongside interviews with the authors where their views and recommendations will be explored in more detail. We are particularly interested in including expert pieces covering the following areas:

Information Technology

Engineering

Business

Social Sciences

Teacher Training

Health Science

Opinion pieces can be between 1000-1500 words in length. Academics articles should be between 3500-7000 words in length, in English and using standard Harvard referencing. The deadline for submissions in January 1st 2017. For more information please contact Paul@jamiya.org or info@newresearchvoices.org.
